Just a quick note to let you know that the Wine Vault & Bistro is doing a special Taste of Mendocino menu on Thursday evening (3/23) that features our Hayley Vineyard Pinot Noir.

One of the best deals in town, the Thursday menu is only $32 for three courses and three wines.  Also being poured with our pinot is the 2007 Atrea “Old Soul” Red Blend and the 2004 Baxter “Eaglepoint Ranch” Syrah.

You can see the whole menu on the restaurant’s online calendar here.

We’re very pleased to announce that our delicious 2009 pinot noirs are now available for purchase online.  To purchase, simply click here.

If you were a fan of last year’s offering, that was the Doctor’s Vineyard pinot noir.  The 2009 version is tasting just as good (if not better!) and is a can’t miss purchase.  The other two pinots are new this year.  The Hayley Vineyard pinot from Anderson Valley is a lighter, more Burgundian style pinot that makes a wonderful food pair.  If you recall our travails through the dreaded smoke taint period, you can now finally taste what an Anderson Valley pinot noir is supposedto taste like!  The Split Rock Vineyard pinot is on the darker, heavier end of the pinot spectrum with notes of cedar, black tea, and spices.  If you like your pinot full bodied, this is definitely the wine for you.   The summary tasting notes are posted below and full technical specs can be found on the ordering page.

If you are in San Diego and you want to avoid shipping charges, we do have a small am0unt of wine left over from our very successful release party.  Please contact us directly at brian@bruliamwines.com to arrange for a local order and pick-up.  Please e-mail us soon as what limited inventory we have on hand will go quickly!

At this time, we can only ship to the following states from our online store:  AK, CA, DC, ID, MA, NJ, NM, NY, and WI.  If you need your order shipped elsewhere, please contact us at brian@bruliamwines.com to make arrangements.

Thanks for your continued support – we know you’re going to love the 2009 Bruliam Wines Pinot Noirs!

2009 Hayley Vineyard Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley

This lighter-style pinot in the Burgundian tradition showcases a fruit basket of bright red cranberry, strawberry, and raspberry plus cola, rhubarb, cardamom and curry.  Flavors of spice cake, red candy and currant marry lively acid to restrained tannins.  Food friendly industry favorite!  Drink now through 2015.

2009 Doctor’s Vineyard Pinot Noir, Santa Lucia Highlands

Seductive whiffs of mushroom, pipe smoke, and damp earth surround a dark berry core.  Hallmark leather, clove, and blackberry brambles honor this wine’s Santa Lucia Highlands pedigree.  A blast of raspberry and cocoa deliver the same velvety tannins and lush mouth feel as the 2008 vintage.  Drink now through 2015.

2009 Split Rock Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast

Our most full-bodied and lusty offering, this pinot is dripping with stewed cherries, dense plum, and rich berries.  Bursting ripe fruit is tempered by savory notes of black tea, cedar, and spice box.  With more tannin and a layered complexity, this is the most age worthy of our 2009 pinots.  Drink now through 2017.
