Rockpile!!!

We did it!

With a little bit of 11th hour wheeling and dealing and a whole lot of pure dumb luck, we managed to acquire a ton of coveted Rockpile Zinfandel grapes from the famed Mauritson family.  We took in the grapes on Tuesday in Healdsburg.

Best of all, Clay Mauritson (who is not only one of the best winemakers in the country, but is certainly the most experienced Rockpile winemaker) has graciously agreed to let us use his facility and to come on board as Bruliam’s consulting winemaker for this wine!!

Much more on this exciting Bruliam development in the days ahead.

Until then, the pictures below showing our fermentation bin at Mauritson Wines and Kerith with grower Chris Mauritson at the winery serve as actual proof (mostly to ourselves) that we pulled this off.

Can you tell we’re excited?

I am soooo happy for you two. It’s nice to know that Chris and I were able to have a happy ending to our drama of grape growing this year. We normally answer to Mother Nature but she was good to us this year but found fault with our contracted Winery. The section in our vineyard called the swale could not have gone to such swell people. :)
