Considering the current economic climate and the surge in new small Pinot Noir producers creating a very competitive environment, I would cautiously increase production of Pinot only. It is prudent to get to know your vineyards and work with the same vineyards over time since this will ultimately translate to better winemaking decisions. If you must have a white wine, consider Chardonnay in small amounts but whatever you do don't make Syrah. You know what they say about Syrah and syphilis? You can get rid of syphilis. And Cab and Pinot just don't mix. Name me one highly respected producer in the world who makes both great Pinot Noir and Cabernet.

So far you are doing a commendable job marketing your name and wine and this will ultimately pay off. It is considerably easier to make Pinot Noir than to sell it as you will soon find out. Everyone is looking for the hot new label, the next Kosta Browne, until the label becomes old news and then the buyers move on. Pinotphiles are as capricious and promiscuous as the grape itself. They are always searching for that next great Pinot epiphany.

I wish you much success.

Make what you like to drink. You can't sell what you are not passionate about! Worst case, you'll drink it yourself. ;-)
